What happens when I register?

Registering is simply a mouse-click away! Whether you are looking for temporary or permanent work, registering will involve completing a Registration Form to evaluate your relative housing skills and professional qualifications. This form can be found online and completed in a couple of minutes. You will also be asked to attach your most recent CV.

When we receive your application, an experienced consultant will contact you by telephone to conduct a telephone interview. References may be requested, and once completed you will be registered with Homes Consultants.

Our service is quick and efficient - you can fill in all the forms online and there is not need to visit a consultant at our offices.
 
Do I need a CV?
Yes. It is essential to register your CV to be considered for vacancies. For more advice on how to write a CV please select this option.
 
How long does it take to register?
It should only take a few minutes to complete the online registration form. Once you have completed the form, one of our consultants will spend between 15 to 30 minutes conducting a telephone interview at your convenience. Remember - there is no need to take time off work and travel to our offices to register!
 
What documentation do I need to provide when I register?

You will need to supply an up-to-date CV with you when registering. If you do not have a recent CV, then we can advise you on how best to compile and present a CV.

If you are on a working holiday, you will need to indicate your eligibility to apply for positions on the online registration form. You will then need to send a copy of your working visa to one of our consultants to confirm your eligibility and passport.
 
Can I apply with a working holiday visa?
Yes. Simply indicate your eligibility on your CV. Once our consultants have been in contact to conduct a telephone interview, you will then need to send through a photocopy of your working visa to Homes Consultants to prove your eligibility.
 
How often do you contact me for jobs once I register?
Once we have a job vacancy, we will match all relevant skills with candidate information from the online registration form. If you have the experience we are looking for, one of our consultants will be in touch to discuss the position with you.

How often do I need to contact you to let you know I'm still interested?
After registration online, we will be in touch with all suitable jobs in line with the skills and interests you have outlined in your registration form. If any changes are made to your personal information or job requirements after registering, you should contact Homes Consultants to update your details. We will continue to consider you for positions until you let us know otherwise!
 
Permanent Employment
How can I get the job I want?

You need to be very clear about what job you want. Vagueness is a big no-no when dealing with an agency. If you're not clear about the sort of position you are going for, you are unlikely to land that perfect job.

Many people in interviews say they want a larger salary and therefore want to leave their current job. However, it often turns out that the real reason for wanting to leave is that they are not enjoying the work. Just be aware that even though you could end up earning £1,000 more in a new role, you could still be doing the same tedious work. Be clear in your application form about what you want, and do not want in your perfect role.
 
When will I know about possible job opportunities?
Any suitable job vacancies or employment assignments that may be of interest to you will be discussed during your telephone interview. Alternatively, we will start to actively source suitable opportunities for you by contacting our extensive portfolio of clients. Either way, it is important that you let your Homes Consultants staff know that you are still available for work.
 
Who will Homes Consultants send my CV to?
If a client contacts us with a job vacancy that we feel would be suitable for you, we will contact you to discuss the position and ensure you are happy for us to forward your details.
 
How will an employer get in contact with me?

After registration, we will contact you with details of any job vacancies which may be suitable, and would ask your permission to forward your CV to an employer. Should a client wish to interview you, Homes Consultants will then act as the point of contact to arrange an interview time and location. An employer will not contact you directly until a permanent placement is made – in which case a letter of offer is sent directly to you.

 
How do I get to interview stage?
Initially an employer will contact Homes Consultants with a job vacancy. If your details match the job specifications, we will be in touch for permission to forward your CV to the employer. The employer will decide whether they want to see you for interview, and Homes Consultants will then be in touch to facilitate the interview time and location.
 
What happens in a job interview?

Prior to any interview or commencement of an employment assignment, we will provide as much information about the position or placement as we can - including time, location, who will conduct the interview and dress standard. We obtain as much information as possible from our clients including office set-up and company culture so that we can paint a clear picture about the employer prior to your interview. It is then up to the client to discuss the job responsibilities and what would be expected of you in the role.

You should take the opportunity to raise any queries you may have regarding the job. It is not advisable however to discuss salary, unless the interviewer has raised the subject in the first instance. The interviewer will let Homes Consultants know after the interview whether you have been successful.
